Change activity type on sync

Hello! I have a Forerunner 230 and there is an activity profile named "Other" in it. After synchronization, activity with the type "Other" appears in the GC.
Is it possible to automatically change the activity type "Other" to another type (e.g. Walking) on syncing with GC? Any settings in GC or something like that?

    It's bad :(
  • Why is it bad? Just because you jumped to solution mode instead of starting with a problem statement, and that solution is not feasible, doesn't mean the situation is bad; you just need to recalibrate your expectations and go back to the drawing board.

Why not just record the activity type you want in the FIT file itself as it is created on your wearable device? Yes, I know the FR230 does not allow you to create additional/custom activity profiles, and even if it did, it still wouldn't allow you to select the activity type of Walking. However, that limitation does not mean the device is incapable of creating FIT files with activity type of Walking; the FR230 supports Connect‑IQ, and Connect‑IQ apps can create FIT files.

    Thank you for reply.
Ok, my problem: when i go to walk i start recording of activity with type "other". After syncing with GC i get "other"-typed activity, respectively. After that Strava loads my walk but "other" is transformed into "run". I should edit my activity twice (in GC and in Strava) and it makes me sad.

Yes I know there are an apps like "Hke" or "Simple Walk" for FR230 but i hoped standard tools exists. I'll try now to use "Simple Walk".
  • If it really bothers you, what you can do is unlink your connect and strava accounts so that your activities don't transfer automatically. Then edit your activity in Connect and sync your Connect and Strava accounts manually using sites like:

    https://tapiriik.com
    or
    https://www.fitnesssyncer.com

I'm not sure that it's less trouble though.

Actually, what you can do is download "Hike" or "Simple Walk" (my sig has the link to my apps in the app store), and just record a walk on the 230. It will show up as walking on GC. Also, with Hike, you can also record it as a hike, and can pick which you want before you start recording.
