Any way to show total elevation and elevation graph to follow mapped course?

Is there anyway that after a course is created the total elevation for the ride or run can be seen?

Also, if I use the mouse pointer on elevation graph is there any way this can be shown on the map view (small dot similar to strava for example) so we can see exactly where the elevation is that is represented?

Not from within Garmin Connect. However, depending on your device, you can view it in Basecamp.
This works with my 920XT.

With your device connected, open your course in GC, then click "Send To Device"
Garmin Express should sync the course to your device
With your device still connected, open Basecamp then select your course under Devices >> Internal Storage
Open the course then select all points to view the Elevation

Also, you can move the mouse to select various points to view specific elevation at that point along the course (sort of like Strava).
