Charging a Garmin 25 in the middle of a ride?

Former Member

Is it possible to charge a Garmin 20/25 in the middle of a ride without the ride being split? I tried a test today: rode for a time, paused the Garmin and connected it to a portable battery pack. The 25 responded by saving my ride, charging, and showing me the screen for a new ride to start.

Failing that, is it possible to have Garmin Connect join 2 rides together?

Thanks,
Glenn in Omaha

    No.

    Thanks. Thought as much.
  • How often are you going to be in a position where you will run out of battery with a fully charged device? Naturally the best option is to ensure your device is fully charged before you start any long activity.

If you buySportTracks you can get the ability to join 2 or more tracks...plus heaps of other stuff you can't do with Garmin Connect.

I have seen my Garmin 25 low on power several times and I don't want to take any chances with losing data. My first 25 - which I returned - behaved badly when power ran out.

I know that there are other websites who will provide services - like joining rides - for a fee, like ridewithgps but I wanted to check my options with Garmin Connect first.

    Thanks for the replay
