TCX Export wrong lap times

Starting Feb 22, when I export my run to TCX, the Lap times are not correct.

Here are my first three lap times in Garmin Connect:
1 2:00
2 3:00
3 2:00

And in the TCX file for these first 3 laps:
<TotalTimeSeconds>116.0</TotalTimeSeconds>
<TotalTimeSeconds>173.0</TotalTimeSeconds>
<TotalTimeSeconds>119.0</TotalTimeSeconds>

When I export to GPX, the end time minus the start time is the correct amount of time for the activity. GPX appears to not know what a lap is. This is why I would prefer to use TCX files.

The run data originally came from the Garmin 735XT.

Any help would be appreciated.

Same TCX exporting issue - wrong lap times

I've seen the same issue on my TCX file from my Fenix 3. TCX lap times are different than what shows in Garmin Connect and what was showing on my watching during the workout. Although it says I was running faster than I was, not what I want to be sending my coach nor use for my own records. Is this a known bug with Garmin's exporting to TCX?
  • I reported this to Garmin months ago. They got back to me with:
"After extensive review, we will not be adjusting how the site exports .tcx files.
Our preferred format is .fit and it would appear that many other sites will be adopting this format moving forward.
The .tcx format will remain an option for the time being."

The .TCX file data does not match the .FIT file data. Who cares about the format... the .TCX file is an XML file and that data is just inaccurate.
    Why would this be different?

Hello Runtim, if you could attach a TCX file that does not show the times correctly then I could recompile it with the Fit File Repair Tool and see if it loads correctly.
