Garmin Connect and Zwift??

Hi,

Anyone else out there that would like to see Zwift be able to be auto uploaded to Garmin like Strava,Training Peaks, etc?? I for one would love to see this happen and I think that its been long enough that we have all had to suffer when the technology is clearly there to help us (the customers)ease the burden of keeping track of our fitness goals??? How about posting to Garmin about it or just reply to this with a Yes Please!!!

  • Sorry, I'm definitely being a bit dumb here. You have a Garmin device and you are using Zwift, although it could be almost anything. When you finish the workout, you upload the data from your Garmin device to Garmin Connect. Don't you? I can't see the problem?

I use PerfPro Studio for my indoor training. PerfPro Studio will generate a .fit file if I need it, but never seen any reason to have it. My 920XT uploads into Garmin Connect anyway.

I maybe wrong, but Strava cannot post directly to Garmin Connect. The linking of the two enables Garmin Connect to post directly to Strava, not the other way around. Can't speak for Training Peaks. My understanding is that Garmin Connect only accepts direct input from Garmin devices. Please feel free to correct me.

    Hi Phillip
I am wanting garmin to allow auto load from Zwift! Yes, I can upload the file but would prefer for Zwift to uploading as the file like Strava is now capable of doing! Thanks for the comment and certainly a good question.

  • There is a vast logical difference between enablement and automation

I think that its been long enough that we have all had to suffer
That's a bit of a gross exaggeration, don't you think?

when the technology is clearly there to help us (the customers)ease the burden of keeping track of our fitness goals?
It is. The technology allows you to track and review what you would otherwise not be able to know. However, it does not imply everything ought to be accomplished with no effort or manual operation whatsoever on the part of the user.
  • Yes I want it too

    Hello, yes!!
  • I use zwift too because the data (speed, distance) isn't correct with my garmin edge 520 when i do a zwift session. Garmin device don't take the elevation and the speed and distance are false. (is it important?). Zwift explain the reasons of these différences.

I upload the zwift activity in garmin connect but GC don't take into account the intensity factor, etc...like my garmin device.

However, Zwift take it and i can see it in my strava count.

    It's too bad.

Finally, it's difficult to have all the correct data.

Why Gc don't take into account or why does garmin develop a Zwift mode for garmin device?
  • Isn't it up to Zwift to get access to the Garmin API and do the necessary? But that's expensive for them, which is why it's not happening.

This from the Perfpro Studio FAQ:

Can PerfPRO push workouts up to Garmin Connect?

No, not at this time due to their steep API fees. Use Tapiriik to make that happen.

    https://tapiriik.com/

With Tapiriik, you can push your performances to Strava, TP, or any other site that PerfPRO can push too. You can then set it up so that site then gets pushed to Garmin Connect. As an example, set PerfPRO up to push workouts to Strava. You can then have Tapiriik push your Strava workouts to Garmin Connect and then all is synced up.

Which also offers you a solution.

I would suggest you don't hold your breath waiting for Zwift to pay for the access. And don't waste your breath pushing for Garmin to do anything.
