Heart monitoring and calories while weight/strength training are Off

I created a weight and a strength training widget in my tracker but when I’m working out in any one of these, the heart monitoring basically does not move and stays very low, also tells me that I’m not in any heart rate zone. Yesterday I worked out for 45 minutes doing a total work out that I know from the past that my heart goes up a lot. My vivoactive HR gives me an average of 70 bpm and 120 calories (to me these 2 figures are really low considering my work out). Is my tracker not working properly or I need to do something else to program it so it will give me correct numbers?
I do indoor cycling (spinning), Swimming and run. During all these 3 activities, everything seems fine. Heart rate and calories look reasonably ok. When swimming also distance and calories look ok.
Once again, is my tracker not working properly or I need to do something else to program it so it will give me correct figures? Will appreciate any comments.
  • This is a common problem with all devices that use optical HR monitoring.

The changes in the position of the blood vessels move in the arm as the hand grasps and releases load and when the wrist is rotated. Thus HR is not reliably detected.

You can try wearing the VAHR higher up on the wrist, on the other side of the wrist, and/or on the other arm.

But the only guaranteed way is to use the VAHR with a separate ANT+ chest strap.
