Created Route is reversed when made Public

I have experienced problems with courses that I have created being reversed when they are changed from private to public.

has anybody else seen this and if so what is the solution ?
  • 1. Contact Garmin support
    2. Create another route in reverse and make that public so that it will come out the right way round.
    3. Create it as a public route from the get go.

    I have exactly the same issue. The course routes exactly as planned when private, but as soon as it is made public it reverses.

    I have tried to create the route in reverse, and then make public, but it stays reversed!

    Very strange.

    Thank you for this discussion. This is something that we are investigating to determine why the start and finish locations are reversed when the course is made public. We have seen that when the course is sent to the device the correct start location is still being used.
  • Rout reversed

    When a route is created on garmin connect and is then made public, the route is reversed...the start point becomes the end point and the end point becomes the start point. The mileage is also reversed. However when the route is uploaded to the edge unit it returns to the correct route.
  • Public Route Reversal.

    Having the same problem, but unfortunately for us we have an event next week and this is causing us problems.
    yet again Garmin have caused me many issues over the years, my loyalty to too this brand has finally died.
    Expensive unreliable junk.

    The issue you are referring to is something that we are aware of and are working hard towards a resolution, however, we do not have a timeframe for this to be completed as yet.

    A little sense of perspective needed here...unless of course you are just trolling :confused:

    Irrespective of how the route is displayed to the public, the route is correct when loaded onto a device. So where's the problem?

    I create courses on Garmin Connect too. Mine are all public but I have never looked to see how they appear to others. When I want to share the course directly with others I post the link. That seems to keep the course running in the correct direction.

    An updated was pushed to Garmin Connect yesterday afternoon that resolves this issue. The start and end points of the course are no longer reversing when the course is made public.
