Multiple watches syncing to same Connect App

hello - i currently have a Vivosmart that i wear all day everyday. however, i am not happy with the look of it when i go out to parties, dinners, etc.

i have decided to also purchase the Fenix 3 HR - but i cannot wear this during work as i risk damaging it.

my question is - if i connect both of these to my App - will they total the amount of exercise i have done even tho it has been split between the devices? ie - if i do 5000 steps on the Vivosmart, then put on the Fenix and do 1000 steps - will the app recognise that i have done 6000 steps that day?

thank you.
  • Which one is it? A vívosmart, or a vívosmart HR? There's a difference.

Please be clear. Do ">‑HR">you have a vívosmart‑HR, or just a vívosmart as stated above (both of which would be different again from a vívosmart‑HR+)?

If you have a VSHR, then yes, the TrueUp feature will allow steps from both it and a fēnix‑3‑HR registered to your account to be recognised in Garmin Connect.

(That may or may not mean syncing the combined count back to the VSHR or F3HR, whichever one is not designated as your preferred activity tracker, for display on the device. I don't use two Garmin wearable devices concurrently, so I don't have first-hand experience of it.)
  • If you have a Vivosmart (not HR), steps will be combined onto the Fenix and you'll see the total for the day from both devices. However, the VS will only show its own steps as it doesn't have the ability to receive the updated total.

thank you very much for you replies. i have a VS HR but the Fenix HR will be my main watch - so i dont mind that it has all the totals.

you have given me the confidence to make the purchase.

    cheers.
