Import feature missing?

I was about to upload a tcx file from Trainerroad into Garmin Connect webiste and noticed that the import feature is no longer there. Has anyone else noticed that? Was there an announcement or was it placed somewhere else?
  • I have also noticed that it is missing and I use this all the time. Garmin do something about it and bring it back.

Clearly you don't use it all the time, otherwise you would know of the 2 locations whereby you can import data. It's been like this for many months.

I too use it frequently (at least twice per week), and no, it hasn't been just like this for many months. As reported the "import" feature being discussed in this thread disappeared just within the last several days (perhaps it was a rolling "update" so more people got it long ago versus now?).

In any case, I would go to the Activities page where the Import feature was located, click on it, and get the regular dialogue box with the "choose file" option. Many months ago I tried using the giant "+" in the upper right corner only to have it give me Dashboard options (create dashboard, edit name, etc), but nothing else. If importing data was added to that, I couldn't tell you when because it was never explicity advertised and I never went looking for something I already had a solution for, but it doesn't automatically disqualify anyone from still using the "import" feature all the time merely because they didn't know one of the options. Come on, now.

That's true. The screenshots I posted in another thread on here shows that there was an Import link, next to +‑Manual‑Activity in the top right corner of the Activities page, as recently as 14‑February.
  • same here :(

    thanks for the tip.

what happened to the IMPORT button that used to be on the top right of the Activities Screen?
  • Earlier in this thread Garmin mentioned to use the big blue plus sign on the top right of the screen. You can import from any other screen from there. That big blue plus sign is always there. Must say it's convenient but it would be nice if they would give us a changelog when they push something new/different or remove something (like when they removed the custom running stride length in the Android Connect Mobile app for the Vivoactive HR )

    but where are the data???

Ok, I've found the button to import. The real problem is that data contained in FIT file are completely missing...

Yesterday I went for a swim with my FRXT920. Today I downloaded the original file from Garmin Connect to edit a few lap in swimmingwatchtools.com, as I do from time to time. All swimming data were displayed.
When uploading the file already edited, only summary data are available (distance, time, calories, average speed). Strokes, split times, lap times... everything is missing...
I tried to upload the original file and the result is the same...

*.fit are correct, because both files (original and edited) contain all data when imported in Sporttracks 3. It's garmin website import that has changed... This is unbelievable!!! Please, roll back!!
  • This is a much better place for it (the plus in the corner). I always thought it took FOREVER to get to the spot where you can upload. But it would have been GREAT if you gave some guidance to such a major UI change
  • There is also an option to click the + in the upper right corner and select import data. This FAQ offers recommendations for manually uploading files.

No doubt that is much more intuitive than the "user profile" option. Thanks for your help !, I was going crazy looking for an option to import a swim file edited after correcting some 920XT missing lengths...
