Bugs in Garmin Connect

A couple of bugs I found in Garmin Connect.

1. Lately, after having imported an activity from my Garmin device, if I go and edit it, it sets the distance to zero km. If I edit it again, and enter the distance, it stays. It is always set to zero km after the first edit.

2. The minimum temperature cannot be set to zero degrees. The program apparently interprets this as having entered no temperature, but a temperature can in fact be zero. If I import an activity that happens to have zero as the minimum temerature, and I go to edit the activity, I have to write something other than zero in order to be able to save it. So I end up with data that are actually incorrect. I cannot save the correct data.
  • For #1, you should refer to the many other threads on this subject. You are not alone.
  • After editing activity can't edit, splits, etc lost

My last two activities on Feb 12 no longer have stats and splits, and have no buttons to edit, favorite, privacy and more. :(
  • Perhaps your concern about the issue's impact on your good self has clouded your mind

I read those, but they seem to be about changing the title, not entering the full edit screen.
Try reading them again, carefully this time, from the beginning.

Note - It was the "full edit" page that I used to change the title, i.e. the pencil icon in the upper right of the activity.

I have been able to recreate the issue using the edit method that you describe.

Yep. Using that pencil icon in the top right to edit any data causes the outcomes reported already.

the described error happens when I click on the Save button – with or without having changed the title or any of the activity summary values – on the Edit page.

If I select the "Edit" pencil icon in the upper right hand corner of an activity to set my heart rate. I can see the Distance and Average Speed values on that page, but when I click "Save" they are zeroed out.
  • They really should make you a forum mod Dill, you'd fit right in :)
  • Frank,

I think one very long thread is much more effective than multiple threads that all repeat the same thing. In my experience, the mods seem to pay more attention to the popular threads rather than the rats and mice.
