Privacy Setting

I am using the Forerunner 630 for runs. I went into Garmin Connect to create some segments. When I try to view the info on the Segments page, it says "If you change your activity privacy to Everyone, you will be ranked here." So i go into Settings -> Privacy Settings and change everything to Everyone (both who sees my profile and who sees my activity), as well as select, "Take part in segments".

When I go back to the Segments page, I still get the "If you change your activity privacy to Everyone, you will be ranked here." message? I have even rebooted my computer to see if that would help. It didn't.

Does this only include runs going forward, or will it go back to all of my activities and include them? What am I doing wrong?

Changes to your privacy settings are not applied retrospectively. If you want the privacy settings of a previously uploaded activity record in Garmin Connect to be changed now, you have to do so on an individual basis (although you can do it with Quick Edit in the Activities page in Garmin Connect online).

If your profile's privacy setting for ‘Participate in segments?’ was previously disabled, I'm not sure whether there is a way to enable it for already uploaded activities individually.
