"Sorry. We did not find any results from your search. Try again."

Hi SInce yesterday Search engine stopped to work in finding activities by keyword.
the behaviour is not related to browser or O.S.
Any feedback?
Thanks
  • Yes, they've removed the ability to enter free text into a search box, but the search function is there to an extent; just needs a little more effort on your part. The options to add seven pieces of information to filter the results will allow you narrow your search down reasonably well. Chances are you have a good idea about what you are looking for from your own activities so should be able to find what you want.

Maybe once Garmin have sorted out the free text option, they'll put that box up again. In the meantime , use the filters to track down what you are looking for.
  • wow Garmin! this is really bad service!! Removing a well-loved function, because you can't fix the issue.

I have labled all my activities in the activity name, so they are (read: were) easy to find. E.g all my time trials are labled TT. Searching for them manually is very, very cumbersome.
  • It's really a pitty :(
Now garmin connect is unusable for me.
I need this functionality to plan my tracks. I don't only run my laps in the park.
I often want to know how long it takes to walk to this or that peak. Or how many meters ascending etc.... So i write down the name of the peak for later use.

I think they have some performance problems so they removed this functionality.
Not that kind of solution I expect from such a great company.

  • I would love to hear the reason for removing the text search. Search functionality is as old as internet itself and can hardly be called a "feature" anymore. It is just supposed to be there and working.

GC must be based on some really old, clunky software if they are not able to fix this. Or maybe the search functionality put too much stress on the servers :)

The irony kicks in when I received a news letter from GC bragging about new developments within social sharing, challenge awards and comparison charts. I suggest Garmin fix the basics before they release fancy social features. Besides, we have Strava for that.

I love the Garmin devices but the degeneration of Garmin Connect is very unfortunate.

    Search function in Connect

Something has changed on the search function in Activities. Used to be able to add a few key words and it would come up with all the rides for that region. Now you have Activity Type, Event Type, Course, Time Period - everything that is quite useless when all one wants is to search and compare previous rides or events in that area.
  • Searching on Activity Type, Event Type, Course, Time Period etc. doesn't work at all on Firefox in Windows 7.
Nothing happens when clicing on the search button.

    Works in Chrome and IE11.
  • … doesn't work at all on Firefox in Windows 7.
Some other things don't work properly in Firefox either, at least on desktop operating system platforms – or so it seems.

However, the currently available Search function on the Activities page in Garmin Connect works in Firefox 6.1(1) on my iPad Air (running iOS 10.2.1).

    Now NO searching works

First it was keywords, not you can't search for a particular activity.:mad:

Losing key world search function on activities is really annoying. I name the different types of sessions I do so I can easily look up when I've done a particular session before and see progress. Without the key word search I can't do this. Please put this function back!
  • Please bring it back

Found this thread after a few weeks of no free text search and finally starting to wonder if it was more than temporary. Now I'm bummin. I use this to track things like tire and chain changes and anomalies that affect ride statistics. Hope I don't have to go through the tedious process of downloading the data but I guess that's an option. Of course, considering what I pay / paid for GC I guess I can't squawk too loud.

Oh forget about that. Downloading doesn't bring the comments so they may be lost forever. Lesson learned about eggs in one basket, especially when someone else is holding the basket.
