Garmin Vivismart HR+ won't sync to Connect app on Apple Smart Phone 5S

My Garmin Vivismart HR+ won't reliably sync to the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone 5S. We have 2 Garmin Vivosmart HR+'s and they both have the same problem. I would really appreciate getting some help with this.
