So I've got an interesting problem. Let me start by saying I'm a little weird in that I am in the US so I mostly think in Imperial units, however seeing as how most races are measured in km, I want my distance to be in km rather than miles. I have a Forerunner 630 which allows me to set my distance and pace to 'km', but keep my elevation, weight, height, and temp in Imperial units. However Connect (website or app) only has an option for distance to be set to 'miles' or 'km'.
Here is where the weirdness begins. If I set all the units the way I want on my watch, then set Connect distance to 'km', when I sync my weight unit is changed to 'kg' and height to 'cm' while leaving the distance and pace in 'km', altitude in 'ft' and temp in 'F'. If I then switch Connect to 'miles' and re-sync I get everything in Imperial units including distance and pace. Fixing distance and pace back to the desired 'km' and re-syncing does not change anything.
While it would be nice to have my Connect data from my activities to be in 'km' rather than 'miles', I can deal with it.
Normally I wouldn't care seeing as how I can get to a point where nothing changes, but I ran into an issue a few days ago. When I woke up my watch had frozen up over night. Easily fixed by turning it off then back on. However when I went for a my run I had some anomalous readings in my datafield. I've got two data-fields I'm using / evaluating. One is Runners HUD and the other is Race Data. Both have been working great for a few weeks now, however in this recent run one was displaying my distance in miles while the other was displaying it in km. Both were supposedly reading the same distance data AND the same unit info. My units were set in km, and Runners HUD was the one displaying in miles. Consequently after initially installing Runners HUD a few weeks ago, it initially displayed my pace in min/mile (rather than min/km as my unit setting indicated), so it may be a bug in the Runners HUD. Its just strange that it would change overnight after working perfectly only two days earlier.
