where is the integration between devices?

I have a VivoActive HR and EDGE 1000.
During the bike rides do not carry with me the VivoActive, I do not need.
However I thought there was an integration of data in Gramin connect.
I do not understand the advantage of having the same platform devices if there is no integration!
The minutes of activity are not updated, there are only those registered with VivoActive.
The VivoActive does not synchronize with Connect Gramin by updating information and data of EDGE.
So does not display the updated calories including the activity recorded with EDGE. It is not updated with the latest activities.
So it's as if they were independent devices and there is no integration as we should expect from the Connect platform.

That depends on what you mean specifically by “integration of data”.

The advantage is that you can more readily consolidate data for different things captured by separate devices as all pertaining to your health/fitness in a single user account on the platform. That does not imply data from multiple devices – performing different functions, and possibly covering different aspects of a particular thing (or event), with or without overlap – will be used to enrich the record of that thing and give a fuller description of it.
So it's as if they were independent devices and there is no integration as we should expect from the Connect platform.
There is no “should” about that. You can form whatever expectations; that is your prerogative. It doesn't mean the expectations are valid or ‘right’, and your having expectations does not automatically oblige Garmin or anyone else to fulfil them.

    well thats easy to answer
vivoactive is an activity tracker Edge is not
edge is a dedicated bike computer vivoactive is not
  • ok,
my expectation is that having all Garmin devices should I have a situation like this:
    - The activity tracker like VivoActive HR must work as complete monitor 24h daily activities and activities recorded on it, but
    - When I use a specific device for the activities (like EDGE 1000) should take the place of Activity tracker "(like vivosmart or VivoActive) and update the data as the active minutes etc. (Only in period use)

I think this is a real full integration.

I agree that better integration between the Edge series and activity trackers would be nice. They came out with TrueUp last year to finally sync data between trackers so I'm hoping they'll integrate other devices at some point. One thing you can do is suggest it to Garmin here: http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/. if enough people suggest this feature maybe they'll add it.
  • as long as the edge doesnt register intensity minutes it wont happen
but yes it would be nice if they all could synchronize with eachother i just dont think its possible because there is such a big difference between the devices and features
  • good, I will recommend the implementation in the link above.
    have a good day!
