Garmin speed sensor dead no light or nothing only had 8 months

hi

my speed sensor is totally dead cadence and heart fine, have changed battery, even turned it around, left cap off tried all the different approaches people have posted, absolutely dead and only had 8 months bought with cadence, surely these should last longer

They do generally. I've had mine for years. Get in touch with Garmin support, or wherever you bought it from.

Before you return the sensor for replacement, there's one more thing to try (been through this twice with my garmin footpod):

When replacing battery make sure to wait at least 30 seconds before inserting a new battery. Or even a little longer, to be safe. Otherwise the sensor might play dead.
