Update Quick Question

Hi!
I have a question about a software update that I can't figure out.

Assume the tracker (Vivoactive HR) is connected to the computer with the USB cable:
When I log into Garmin Connect on the Mac it opens to the Dashboard.
On the left side there is a Two-Way arrow. For the last couple of days, there has been a numeral "1" in a circle next to the arrow.

If I click the arrow, a side panel opens that says "Software Update". It has a Down Arrow. I click the arrow & it says ANT/BLE N3 Firmware, Version 2.40
Above that line it has a picture of my tracker (Vivoactive HR) and an oval titled "Send Now".
I click the "Send Now" and wait a few minutes (nothing happens on the screen).
I will then log out and eject the tracker from the computer and unplug the USB cable.

I assumed that if I click "Send Now", the update would go to the tracker. I think I was wrong.
Then next time I open Garmin Connect, the number one in a circle is still there & the update name is still there.
It makes me think the tracker never got the update.
I tried re-doing the Send Now and restarting the tracker after ejecting it.

Still, every time I log into Garmin Connect, the ANT/BLE N3 Firmware, Version 2.40 update is still available for download.
Do you all know what I'm doing incorrectly?

  • In windows, "Send now" triggers Express to open and do the update. If yours doesn't do that, open Express and sync from there.

    Thanks for the tip Pshare.
    Send Now triggers Express on the Mac too, but the update notice still remains in the double arrow icon, so I'm not sure if it updated or not.
  • I have 3 Garmin devices and a perpetual 3 flag for user setting updates to the devices. I contacted support about it and they recommended that I delete all my devices and relink them with express.

    One thing though is that I weigh myself every day and that would trigger an update flag to the devices every day anyway. The problem is that even if I update my devices for weight, the flags return 1/2 hour later.

    I figure it's not worth the trouble and just live with it.

    I'm going to do the same as you - Live with it.
    But I do wonder if the ANT/BTLE update ever made it to the tracker. Since the tracker seems to work fine, I guess it doesn't matter.
