Cycling Goal Distance

Hi Folks,

Have set myself the target of cycling 20000 miles in 2017 but every time I set the options for the goal and click save, it drops to 13344 miles - am I doing something wrong ?

Interesting indeed. When I created that same goal as an experiment just now, and the target somehow got changed:

Tried to do the same and it seems like the max distance is 21,475 km even though it says otherwise. Whatever I type over 21.475 it will switch back.
You should definitely email them.

Yep, I've come to the same conclusion from earlier experimentation. Whether the 21,475 miles is a limitation to protect the integrity of the data structures and/or the algorithms used by Garmin Connect is unclear, but yes, that seems to be a preset maximum limit.

For what it's worth, I did send a support request to Garmin via the web. Until then, I'll have to lower my running goal for the year to 13,344 miles.

Slacker! You could always just commit to a more regimented set of monthly goals of >1,666 miles each. ;)

Thank you for the discussion on this issue. This is something that we are looking at further. I will update this thread once I have some more information.
