Daily "Steps" in Garmin Connect won't sync with Limeade (Employer's Health Site)

Hello,
I have a Vivoactive and it tracks my steps taken daily... and I can see my steps taken (real-time) in the Garmin Connect app.
My employer has a fitness/wellbeing site that is powered by Limeade. There are "challenges" given on the Limeade site, such as 50,000 steps in a week.
My problem is that, although the Limeade site is connected to my Garmin Connect account, the steps don't automatically transfer from Garmin Connect to the Limeade site. On a weekly basis I have to go into the Limeade site and manually enter my steps for each day into the site.
The strange thing is that if I use one of the GPS functions on the Vivoactive... walking, running, biking, etc.. the steps, distance, time, etc. DOES automatically populate the Limeade site.
Any advice that you have to automatically sync my steps with the Limeade site would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Tom Adams
  • Have you contacted Limeade?

I no longer have Humana Vitality, but as of December it would pick up steps and HR automatically from Garmin.

I suspect that it is what Limeade is requesting that is the problem.

I contacted Limeade last year and they had me disconnect and then link again to their site to Garmin Connect, but it didn't work.
If I select any of the activities on the Vivoactive... Run, Bike, Walk.. that that data does automatically transfer to Limeade... it's only the steps that don't automatically sync... so does that make it a Garmin Connect problem?
  • Not necessarily. The 3rd party site needs to be able to 'read' the data Garmin is sending. T

If Garmin never promised you that your step count would sync to whichever third-party platform you want to use, then it remains your problem only and not Garmin's, if whatever integration is there falls short of your expectations.

With Humana they would pickup the random steps along with HR on activities. I think also calories on activities. All with the VAHR.

    I have a similar problem.

Limeade has permission to read my steps and such from Garmin Connect, put there by my Vivoactive, but syncs very sporadically and seemingly wrongly. (No, I didn't take 29000 steps on such-and-such day, and can't make its math match reality thus far.) Manual non-step activities don't seem to sync, but it might just be taking more than a day or two to sync -- got steps dated the 19th, synced to Garmin Connect on the 19th, posted on the 24th.

I expect this was a Limeade problem, but others with Garmin Connect seem to have better luck. I happen to have a Vivoactive, same as the original poster, FWIW.
