Synching on Garmin Connect and Garmin Express

I have bought a VivoActive which I mainly use for cycling and running activities. I have downloaded Garmin Connect onto my iPhone and synched the VivoActive to the phone. It uploads all my sets, sleep and activities as it is meant to - so far so good. However, I also downloaded Garmin Express onto my Apple Mac and (using the USB lead) tried to synch my watch with Garmin Express. It loads up all my activities i.e. running and cycling, but not my steps and sleep. A box comes up saying that it can't synch my steps and sleep through Garmin Express as it is not my activity tracker. This has left me with one set of information on my iPhone through Garmin Connect (which synchs everything), and another set of information on my Apple Mac through Garmin Express (which only synchs running and cycling). I am sure that it is an easy fix, but I don't seem to be able to do. All I want is to have all my fitness activities, steps, sleep, etc synched correctly so that I can either view them on my IPhone or through my Apple Mac. Help is much appreciated.

I don't use a Vivoactive but do I have to select which of my devices I want to use for Activity tracking (steps). In Garmin Connect on your Mac, click the three bars in the left hand margin and select "Devices". Choose your device and under "Device Settings" you will see "Activity Tracking". Select the slider (box goes green when selected) next to "activity tracking" to make this device your step counter.

Many thanks for the help, but under Device Settings I don't seem to have a slider bar entitled Activity Tracker. Should I be looking elsewhere?
  • Try here - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/device/3898217802 This may link to your page on Garmin Connect on the inter web just in case you are going to the wrong page.

Would you post a screenshot of the page you are looking at? If you hold down Command, Shift and 4 together, you can select a portion of the page and attach the resulting screenshot from your desktop.
