I removed my 220 from Garmin Express and when I add the 735, it asks for username and password first, then asks for display name. I don't want to change my display name. It won't let me use the one I have.
It sounds like you got into the routine to set up a new Connect account rather than a new device. I suggest you watch the prompts carefully and choose to login rather than create a new account. Even though the 220 is out of the account, the account is still there.
