How do I delete a lap in an activity

"Extra lap" got added to activity by mistake (timer got started somehow, I hadn't reset the watch).

Is there any way to delete just a lap from the activity on the activity specifics page?

I can't (apparently) delete the activity & re-upload it -- this problem is in my other thread.

Any suggestions?

Not with anything that Garmin provides.

    That's too bad.
I guess none of the devs ever make a mistake!

It was so much easier using TC.

I'm sure most here would concur that there is plenty of evidence that the developers working for Garmin make mistakes. After all, we're all only human.

What was your point, though? While it's natural to want to undo mistakes, or at least neutralise any impact they may have, in the name of what is it important to do so (perhaps on a case by case basis)? Why would anyone expect the means to do so to be readily available, easy and painless? Is anyone really obliged to support us in fixing our mistakes to our satisfaction?

I got sent a new credit card the other day when my old one expired. When I signed on the signature strip, my pen slipped, and ruined the strokes in my autograph. Oops, my mistake. Do you think I should just ask for a new one immediately, so that I don't need to see the messy John Hancock and be reminded of it time and time again for the next few years? Should I fret?

Oh, and I over-cooked some vegetables in the oven (for myself only; I wasn't entertaining) last night – again, my mistake – but I didn't dump the whole lot in the garbage and start cooking afresh with a new batch, just so the side dish would present nicely. Is that bad? Would you have done so?

But you couldn't edit laps in TC either could you? Unless my memory is wrong. There is a Windows based program called SportTracks which will allow you to do all sorts of post-activity editing. Might be worth investing a few dollars in that if you are prone to making mistakes. If you've only made one mistake since you've had your 305, I'd suggest you're getting a little over excited about a problem of your own making. Every one makes mistakes at some time or other with these devices. Some we can recover from, others we just have to move on from and get over them.

I don't know about *editing* a lap in TC but you could *delete* one -- without having to delete the whole activity.

I just wish there were a similar option in GC, or a way to re-upload the activity -- say, after deleting the erroroneously-timer-started-track from the device.
