Tai Chi Fenix 3 HR

I would like to know too. 
I do Tai Chi everyday and it gets tedious renaming “yoga(2)” (best match I could come up with) to Tai Chi in Garmin Connect every time.

copy yoga

and then there is No Manual way to add the name I want. My only suitable option here is yoga(2)

In newer watches you can rename the custom activities. It is very unlikely that that function will be added to the older watches.

I have a new vivoactive 4S. I can not find a way to create a new activity AND give it the name that I want so that I can use it in favourites.

To create an activity, I can copy yoga and when it comes to the step to name it, there is no option to select/input my own name, only a list of suggested names. So I get yoga(2) and everyday on Garmin Connect I have to change the name to Tai Chi.

if you know of a way, please share.

The names are stored on the device so I did some tests with looking in the file system on the watch but can't find a way to change them.

It looks like it isn't possible to do on the Vivo and Venu watches. It is possible on at least Fenix 6 and Forerunner 945.

It might work if you create a workout named Tai Chi that you starts every time and change the activity name setting to "Workout name": https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings

But it might be easier to just edit the name.
