Forerunner 305 vs Garmin Connect calendar

I'm a long time Forerunner 305 user (it's ancient but does the work). I've been trying to migrate to GarminConnect and apart for occasional hiccups with synchronization it works rather ok... but I've face a problem recently - how to use a plan/calendar - with GTC it works just fine - I put workout on a day and then send it to device.
Why I wanted to use GC is that it have quite nice workout routines, so I selected one, added to calendar, synced... and nothing changed on the device.

Does GarminConnect supports only newer devices?
  • GTC it works just fine - I put workout on a day and then send it to device.
Why I wanted to use GC is that it have quite nice workout routines, so I selected one, added to calendar, synced... and nothing changed on the device.
Did you select Send Workouts to Device, in the menu under the button?

  • Actually the problem was caused... by adblock - it removed the element...
However - while I can send some basic workouts to the device, sending the routines fails with abstruse error "synchronization failed with error"
  • And that maybe due to the limitations of your device. The 305 is old and in all probability can only manage simple instructions.
  • Well, there is an information that "garmin 405 and 410 can't handle power steps" but the message says those will be converted to regular steps. And those trainings are not really that complicated - basic zones and so forth.

I guess it's time to finally upgrade ;)
