KM and LBS. Fix?

Hello Garmin,

Fellow Canadian here looking for a fix. As I understand it, Garmin Connect off the website makes you chose between either Metric or Imperial. Canadians typically work off Lbs. and KM's for metrics and I can't appear to have those settings. I either end up in KGs and KM's or Lbs and Miles.

From what I've searched I don't see a fix here which is quite disappointing as this was easy to change in the Fitbit Eco System. Please help!
  • You are stuck with metric or imperial in Connect. However your device can have both configured. For example, I use lbs and kms on my FR910XT.

Another vote here from another Canadian. I would like to see distances, weight and temperature all have their own Metric/Imperial display setting. I move in kms, weigh in lbs. and measure temperature in Celsius. I think it stems from the fact that once Canadians converted over from the imperial system to metric, a lot of weight measurement devices (particularly home and doctor's office scales) were not replaced with metric equivalents until they broke down.

Depending on your age, you may also know your height in feet and inches, and for some strange reason, everyone where I live still measures water temperature in Fahrenheit, but uses Metric for air temperature. The next generation may be more fluently metric, but will still know how to measure lumber, distances, etc. since our closest neighbor is still imperial.

Having individual settings for units of measurement would be my #1 request for Garmin Connect.
  • I'm also Canadian. I use imperial for height and weight. I use celsius for temperature. Connect supports this completely for me. The only issue is that I prefer km for cycling and miles for running. I have 2 devices - a 910xt for cycling set individually to kms and my VA is set to miles.

The only issue I have and can easily live with is that my cycling kms are converted to miles in Connect. However, I can still set a goal in kms in Connect and it will convert accordingly.

My point is that I can do pretty much what I need already except for multiple distance measures depending on the activity.
  • Another Canadian here. I want weight in Lbs, distances in KM, and temperature in C. It is extremely frustrating because I can't control the weight display on my shared scale (set to lbs) so all my activities are in miles. I have also never thought about my wrighw in KGs so even if I could change my scale, I would lose all my historical references.
  • I'm also Canadian and that's exactly what I have. Connect supports it perfectly for me as you can define statute or metric for each of those statistics.
  • Just bumping this ancient thread because this seems like it should be an easy fix for Garmin and there are still tons of us who want this! Please add a way to have pounds and kms Garmin...

  • Another Canadian here... and Garmin PLEASE allow options for different units of measure.  Weight = LBS / Distance = KM.  The current options are too limiting!
