Cant find way to report total altitude gain for a year

Re: Cycling Activities reports for the previous year.

Although I was able to get things like all the distance or even my average cadence for the last 12 months, I dont see total Ascent on the reporting screens at https://connect.garmin.com/modern/report/16/cycling/last_year

Can someone tell me how to get the totals? Altitude gain is as important as distance when you are planning your training for the next year. There must be a way to get the totals. Yes I know that altitude data is probably inaccurate (Garmin doesnt seem to care too much about it either), but I'm mainly interested so I can do year over year comparisons.

Anyone know of a report or some query you can run fron the URL?

  • I think I figured it out

Its not very intuitive, but I did find that if you go to https://connect.garmin.com/modern/reports
and click on "Activity Distribution" on the top left, there is a pulldown menu that will allow you to specify the group-by aggregate level (year month or week).
It then does a listing with one of the columns that shows altitude gain for the year.

It would be much better to be able to see a line graph or a barchart or something?
