How do I get my 2016 cycling stats out of Garmin Connect

This used to be easy with the old UI. When the modern UI came along I couldn't figure it out so I used the option of switching to the old UI. But it seems that option is no longer available.

There must be a way to do this since it is one of the most common use cases. Really the only reason I own a Garmin device is to be able to publish stats like this so I can encourage others to try riding a bike once in a while.

Thanks,
Glen
  • If you just want your totals for the year, go to reports >> progress summary >> last year.

    Totals

I have the same question. I just want to see my total miles for each activity. I don't see how to do that. There is no reports>>progress summary>>last year as suggested. Thanks for your help. Also, on the Report widget, how do I change the date range? Just checking 12 months doesn't show me only 2016. I want to be able to pick my own dates.
  • Getting my stats out

I'd also like to know how to get my stats out please (including all second by second data). Displaying in Garmin's restricted format isn't enough for a detailed analysis.
    Many thanks.

Thanks SEILOGRAMP! That was what I was looking for. I think originally that "last year" option showed you the past 12 months of data so it only worked if you generated the report right after the Space Needle fireworks. But now it seems to show the last calendar year.
    :)

    More detail.

If you can't find reports just go here: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/report
Click on "Progress Summary" (last item on the bottom left)
Change the drop down to Report on "Last Year"

You should see something like this...

    " />">

Choose custom dates rather than last year if you want to pick your own date range.
This won't give you any daily detail, just a summary.

Not so easy if you want all your data. You would have to open each activity, select the gear icon, then choose your file format of choice to download it. I do this daily so it's already saved to my PC and NAS as a backup. Another option would be to sync everything with Strava. You might prefer their analysis tools.

    No progress summary

I know how to access the reports page. There is no progress summary on the left side or anywhere.

Here is my reports page: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/report/
This is what the left side menu looks like:

    All Activities

    Active Calories
    Activities
    Average Heart Rate
    Average Pace
    Average Speed
    Calories Remaining
    Max Heart Rate
    Total Activity Time
    Total Calories
    Total Distance

    Cycling
    Health and Fitness
    Running
  • jaschlott, can you post a screen shot? That link you have just takes me to my own reports page, which of course includes progress summary. Off the top, just guessing that you might have the zoom controls on your browser adjusted for bigger fonts, which will hide the bottom part of that page. Thanks.

I'm not sure the attachment worked. I tried making the screen bigger/smaller. Still no progress summary.
  • That screenshot is fine. Looks like you're using Firefox, which should totally work, but guess what, it doesn't. I just downloaded Firefox and tested it. Everything is cut off after "Running" just like your screenshot. Go figure.

Try it in Internet Explorer, Edge, or Chrome. Personally, I like using Google Chrome, which works fine for just about everything.
