I've created a custom activity on my vivoactive HR for climbing floors of stairs. I want it to track and save how many floors I've climbed (and descended). Could anyone give me a tip? Also, I've noticed that the floors I climb when not recording an activity are more likely to register than if I am recording. Anyone else notice this?
Floors are something that's not saved in the .fit when you record an activity. A Connect IQ app could be written to add that as "developer data" to the .fit, but that's it.
If you click on my sig, I have an app called "Simple Walk" that gives you an alert when your floor count changes, but doesn't add that data to the .fit. On the app's "chart" page, it will also show where you were when you got new floors (U=up stairs,D=down stairs)
Thanks! I hope a developer picks up on this, it would be a nice piece of data to track for those who stair climb in their homes!
Is there a way to improve the accuracy or frequency of the altimeter measurement? My VivoActive HR does not seem to pick up the frequent change in elevation when I'm doing laps up and down a single flight of stairs.
