garmin connect only blue screen - no graphs

Since several weeks now the garmin connect website (https://connect.garmin.com/modern/) is not showing any info anymore.

While it has worked correctly for several months, now only a blue screen is visible with the 4 icons on the lefthandside (icons looking like: 3 horizontal bars, an in-tray, side way pointing arrows, and a person icon), and only 2 lines appear on top of the screen showing links which don't respond (Help Status Facebook Instagram Twitter Pinterest Statement of Privacy Terms of Use Security
Connect is powered by Garmin • Copyright © 1996-2016 Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries • Version: 3.13.3.0).

My garmin products: the index scale, and garmin fenix 3 HR.

My PC runs on WIN10, Norton 360, and software is fully up to date.

I tried all these browsers, none of them give me a working website for garmin connect anymore: Firefox, MS Edge, MS Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari.

I tried searching the web for solutions, but I can't find any. What I did find was that many users have reported this issue several times (posts seen ranging from 2013 till 2016). I did not find any solution though. Cache has been cleared several times. I tried with support of Firefox support, eg using private browsing, but no use.

Is there a solution for this issue? Can you help me please with this?
I can't use this product fully if that site is not working properly. I want to be able to use the website, selecting training schedule etc, next to the garmin mobile app on my iphone.
  • If I recall, when this issue occurred in the past it was not impacting all, but rather limited to an area of the globe or your ISP. Since this seems to be browser independent, can you try on a different computer? Can you try accessing the site from your phone using your cellular data, rather than your Wi-Fi connection?

If still no joy, most likely your best option will be to log a support call with Garmin.
  • still not working

I tried on another computer in my house, same issue...
SOmetimes the blue screen with little on it appears, but now mostly just a white screen appears with some hyperlinks listed on it which seem to be stuff from the actual website.
The site is not working, no graphs appear, it's very very slow, if any reaction comes at all.
  • Could still be an issue with your Internet service provider or your router. That's why I suggested testing on your phone, using cellular data, or some other location outside of your home. Calling Garmin support will probably be your best bet.

I have the exact same issue and it is driving me nuts...

    I tried:
--> Chrome, Internet Explorer + Firefox from work (through dutch VPN)
--> Chrome, Internet Explorer + Firefox from home
    --> Safari on mobile data
--> Chrome, Internet Explorer + Firefox (work laptop in France - other country)

I have strong doubts that it has anything to do with the ISP or the router, I tried to many different options...

I tried deleting cookies, browser history, everything.

Sometimes after thousand tries it works, but then again next time it doesnt work anymore.

App on the cellphone works mostly perfectly (other issues).

But I need to access Garmin Connect on the PC to export the data to runalyze...

Seriously, this is unacceptable, if you base everything on one application you should make sure that it works for everyone or at least give alternatives for usage...
  • carefully whispering: it works again...

    I tried today:
    - iphone via wifi, at home (via same router as 2 PC's which I tried without success): same isse, white screen with some site-related hyperlinks, very slow, no graphs at all, no blue screen either
    - same iphone: switch off wifi, so go via 3G: site works (auto-logged in at site start with other account, logged that account out, and tried my own account which now seemed to work too)
    - same iphone, swap on wifi: site doesn't work no more

Previously, I tested with 2 PC's at home (both wired connected to same router), unsuccessfully, and with my iphone (via wifi, same router), unsuccessfully.

So, this led me to believe it had something to do with my router.
I connected to the router webpage, checked all firewalls, URL filters etc (basically, no filters were on, and I couldn't find any logs to show if anything was being blocked).
It's an ASUS router, which works with something called AiProtection (description: Malicious Sites Blocking, Restricts access to known malicious websites in Trend Micro’s database for always-up-to-date protection).
So, I thought maybe that mysteriously sounding protection is blocking it out or so.
But before charging into that investigation, I tried one more thing: I switched power to my router, and to the switches I have in front of it, OFF. After 20 secs, turned it back ON.

Checked both iphones via wifi, and my main PC (wired conn): the site appears to be working again.

The reboot of my router/switches seemed to have done the trick.
Although, the post just above this one makes me doubt again I might have encountered a coincidence... (as that one points out similar problem from different locations).

I suggest to try the reboot though, it's a simple action, easily checked if it helps (don't know why I didn't try it earlier).
  • While there have been the odd issue due to Garmin server problems the vast majority of the 'blue screen issue' are due to issues with the relevant PC preventing the download from Garmin. Browser settings, adblockers, routers etc have all been found to be culprits. On this occasion therefore I suspect you've resolved it :)

Unfortunately it is still not working for me, even though through my post I kinda showed that it is probably not an issue due to router / pc / browser whatever but something on Garmin side.

After posting before I went to private mode in FireFox and YEAHA it was working.
Just tried it again and its not working anymore.

Seriously - same PC, same internet connection, same mode (private) and its working at 12:20 and not anymore at 16:20

This is clearly NOT an issue on my side.

I am really considering selling my Forerunner, it is not useable for me if I can't properly extract my running data...
  • Working fine here so I wouldn't be so definite if I were you. Call Garmin for some detailed troubleshooting.

Actually, I posted this issue also on Firefox forums, and among the first suggestions the experts there gave me was: Does it work if you use Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history ? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history

For me, it made no difference, but as you indicate it does, maybe pursue that somewhat further, iirc private mode bypasses history and cookies etc ... so you might be helped by clearing your browser history, cookies, cache (hamburger menu, history, clear recent history, select cookies and cache)

My guess is that is has something to do with the account settings...
I called customer support and explained it... now the tech department is checking it.. Until then I cant use connect online.. very good...

Just for Information: Tech department said I shall delete some widgets from the frontpage because too many widgets slow down everything. Great.... would love to do that IF i could see any of them.

I'll probably going to sell the watch and go for an alternative, its not worth the stress I have.
