Suggestion: Allow different gear to link to the same activies

Hi,

I don't know about you but I have an MTB and a racer and have two sets of running shoes.

The Gear option is really fantastic but does not work for me since I can't distinguish which gear I am using. I have a FR 235.

Would it be possible to create shortcuts of activities to address this purpose. The way I see it is that I would create shortcut combos, i.e

Bike (MTB) and Bike (racer) and before I start my activity I would choose that.

Thanks and happy new year.

  • Can't you just edit the gear for an activity you have completed and uploaded to Garmin Connect – with or without using a rule to assign default gear? I also use a FR235 to track my runs, and I have eight pairs of running shoes on active rotation. I make a habit of confirming/editing the running shoes associated with each recently completed activity; recording the correct information is important to me, and so convenience and expedience take a back seat – although a default gear assignment rule for Running helps somewhat, and means I only have to edit the activity records about 60% of the time.

I'm sure you can remember which bike you used and which shoes you wore for the ride(s) you completed today. Or yesterday. Or even the day before. All you need to is confirm or edit the gear within however long a period to which your memory of such would reliably stretch.

It would have been much more convenient to choose before than remember to edit it afterwards. I'm not on my computer that much.
