New Zealand time zones

This problem has been bugging me for quite some time....
I live in Christchurch, New Zealand, all my devices and computer are set for NZ time, but Connect insists that I am in the Fiji time zone. Not a problem most of the time but our daylight savings change over dates are different so I get incorrect times for a week in the Autumn and Spring.
If I travel around the country, I get different time zones. eg. if I go South, I get Micronesia time and I've seen other time zones in other parts of the country.
I am in the habit of editing the time zone for every activity.
This happens on all 3 of my devices: FR210, FR735XT, Edge 500 and whether it is loaded via my computer or my Android phone, so I assume that the problem is in the Garmin time zone maps as it seems to be device independent.
Any ideas?

    In NZ too and don't see the problem you are experiencing.
  • All settings are set for NZ time, although clicking on info button comes up with this:

    "Upload Time Zone
    This setting will only apply for new non-GPS uploads and does not change the time of activities already stored at Garmin Connect."

    Indicating that for activities uploaded from a device, the time zone is automatic regardless of the setting.

    Further investigation indicates that, around Christchurch, it shows the Fiji time zone and South Island outside Chch, it shows Micronesia time zone, which is incorrect by 2 hours.

    It's been a while since I last ran in the North Island, so I can't remember what it did there. Could be correct.

    I am experiencing the same issue as you describe here and when I upload my data it appears in Fiji time. I have a Garmin Edge 25 and live in Hastings, New Zealand. I contacted Garmin Support earlier this year regarding this and went through the process with them checking that all my settings were correct. Unfortunately this occurred over the period when daylight savings time finished and the issue appeared to have been corrected. However now that NZ is back in daylight savings time my activity recordings on the Garmin Connect site are an hour out again and still appear as Fiji time. I believe the problem lies in the web app upload interface not correctly checking the devices location. I'll try to contact Garmin Support again to see if it can be resolved.
