New Fenix 3 HR - Garmin Connect Problems

Not sure if these issues have been reported before, but these are some issues I've ran into since buying this watch last week. And functionality that has been missing when I goto use it.

1. Consistent Device is Busy warning when trying to sync.

2. Can't view movement on Connect App

3. Can't view temperature on Connect App

4. Cycling shows by last activity not by day on main dashboard.

The main dashboard isn't very user friendly as you can't add any other dashboards like heart rate. Instead you have to drill into the settings.

5. Default personal records for activities biking specifically are lacking;

- Can't see a record for speed, avg speed, or such with candence

6. Apple Health updates a full day behind, not in real-time or when garmin connect syncs.

I am seeing similar issues with other apps like myfittness pal which makes the app a bit unusable

7. For sleep you can't set more then one cycle, and it doesn't seem to record properly at all.

I could set it to any time and it says I did whatever sleep cycle. I kind of just ignore this feature all together. Similar to steps just both seem like a gimmick. I move hands so much and then it goes goal steps made. Yeah ok.

    SOLVED

    1. Consistent Device is Busy warning when trying to sync.

    - these seem to have cleared up, not sure what the cause was.

    2. Can't view movement on Connect App

    - this is not a big deal, just would be neat esp if it could plot in 3d

    4. Cycling shows by last activity not by day on main dashboard.
    5. Default personal records for activities biking specifically are lacking;

    - These issues can be mitigated by the use of a 3rd party app like Motivio. Which even can output candence into power without the need of a power meter.

    6. Apple Health updates a full day behind, not in real-time or when garmin connect syncs.

    - These issues seem to have cleared up for apple health, however I am going to disable it as it provides no added functionality. For myfittness pal it is not working at all atm but that is something to contact them about nothing to do with garmin at this point.

    7. For sleep you can't set more then one cycle, and it doesn't seem to record properly at all.

    - I wasn`t clear on this but you have to arduously dig into the settings and set sleep mode in your settings. The polyphasic aspect still alludes me, but I am assuming if you just set sleep mode it will adjust without needed the static time frame on connect.

    - Apparently there was a hotkey in activites before, but as of last year it`s suppose to automatically detect sleep. Which it has been doing accurately the last few days, again I haven`t been keep track of it as much lately. But the ability to manually set it should clear up any additional problems.

    Outstanding;

    3. Can't view temperature on Connect App

    - This still bugs me, it isn`t a huge thing. However passive monitoring would be amazing where if it alerted you if your body temp dropped too low, so you know to put a sweater on, if it gets too high take something off. Or if you`re doing an activity and you boy temp goes too high to ventilate, if it goes too low insulate. I just really don`t like how these things don`t do passive monitoring.
