Option to hide segments, tag duplicates...or somthing similar

Well, I see too many segments duplicated, some of them with "personal" names because people don't set them as private...and etc.

Maybe the best way to solve this is the option to hide segments you don't want to see anymore.
Other options are flag inapropiate segments or vote/favorite segments and then an admin (or system) can erase the less popular in votes or less favorited... or a segment that was flaged...

You could try using the filters at the top of the list of segments (independent filters in dashboard and main segments window)

Of course, that's what I'm doing now.
I choose favourites, and then filter only favorites.

But... I have to do every time... in every activity.
Also people is creating no sense and duplicated segments...

I would vote again for a tag/hide segments option as Strava feature.

I don't see why you have to filter every time - your choice of filter persists until you chose to change it.

With regard to duplicate segments, it is quite common for an existing segment not to show up even when it has definitely been completed - this often leads to the creation of a similar (not a duplicate) segment. Then someone else follows the same route and both segments show up! I think that this situation arises as a result of GPS variation/errors in the data files. Sometimes, however, similar segments may be created for very good reasons eg an existing segment ends just after a junction. People using the junction want a segment that ends just before the junction.

I think we just have to accept that most segments are created in good faith and if that causes a minor inconvenience it is only minor (nevertheless, I do like Strava's solution of hiding segments that you don't want to see especially as there are many more segments defined in Strava than GC)
