assigning mileage to shoes used on run

Pretty clear, after I run, how do I choose which shoes get credit for those miles?
I did do a search but confused by some of what I found. Seems you can only set one shoe as the default for an activity, i.e. running.
I'd like to choose which shoe I used after the run.
  • One way is to bring up the activity in Garmin Connect online, then click on either Gear under the activity name, or Change Gear under the already selected gear, and do your editing there.

You could also do it from the Activities widget on the dashboard in Garmin Connect online, or using one of the Garmin Connect Mobile apps.

thanks @ASmugDill I first was changing the shoe choice on Garmin Connect before connecting my FR10 not knowing if i could edit it once it had downloaded. That was working. But the Gear Change you pointed out in the lower right does exactly what I was looking to do. thanks again...
  • is there any way to add starting mileage to a shoe?
I've got a whole bunch of shoes in rotation

Is there a way to tag a shoe on the Garmin device (specifically Fenix 3 HR)?

It is a pain to remember the shoes and tag them later in Garmin Connect when I sync all my runs.

What do you mean by “tag a shoe”? Are you talking about expressly selecting gear (in this case, a pair of shoes) from a list of known items to associate with an individual activity? In that case, at best you'd be tagging the activity and not the shoe(s). No, you cannot make such a selection on a Garmin wearable device, not the least because the device does not know which gear items exists in the database for your Garmin Connect account and so you cannot simply select from it.
