has this 6 (!) year old problem still not been sorted out? i tried to find an answer because of my new work calendar.
Because we have shared calendars at work, I'm seeing all of our events on the Garmin Calendar Widget on my Fenix 5. Would love to be able to limit the events that are shown. Anyone know how to do that…

I've found that unticking the calendars in question in Google Calendar app sorts this out for me. That only works if you want the calendar anywhere; if you want the calendar in the Calendar app(s) on your phone, but not on your Garmin watch, you're still currently out of luck.
Hi. Let me revitalize this topic. I am syncing with an iPhone and although the Google calendar is unchecked (I do not see it on the agenda app on the phone), the data is visible on the watch. Too bad you cannot hide this info.
I did setup a new calendar to plan my week. Now I get all the events on my watch. It’s disabled on my phone, on the web. Still it feeds in the watch’s calendar app…
The watch will display the events that are added to the calendar provider on your phone. Note that the app you are using on the phone is not the same as the calendar provider. The app got access to the calendar provider and will display the events stored in the provider.
Hiding a calendar will not remove the events. They will just be hidden, but still be available. You need to disable the sync of events from the calendars you don't want on the watch.
So, I was digging deeper, and I remember this was an issue 15+ years ago on Nokia phones.
If you're looking for a solution for Google Calendar - iPhone combination, try to disable the sync using this link: www.google.com/.../syncselect
I'm having he same problem. My calendar is for a job I don't even have anymore!
