Garmin Connect is ENABLING Elevation Corrections for my Fenix 3 !?!

I suddenly get Elevation Corrections enabled on Connect.
Of course this is a major bummer since the "corrected" elevation much less accurate than the Fenix 3 numbers derived from pressure meter.
My watch is running release version 8.00 and I did not make any changes to the watch when this started happening.
(The watch is still recognised as Fenix 3.)
It's very annoying.

Join the club! I went through the Garmin Support mill and was advised there would be a fix.... that was months ago and I still have this problem. https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?357366-Elev-Corrections-Enabled-When-They-Should-be-Disabled

The weird thing is that the watch is recognised correctly but elevation "correction" is still enabled.
And the super weird thing is that it happened recently without changing the software in the watch.
I guess they changed something in GC or it just had a hick-up or something.

It is a feature of Garmin Connect that Elevation Correction is automatically enabled on an activity if GC decides that the barometer is faulty. This is what happened with my old 910xt a year back.

Elevation Corrections enabled here too for a few months now. The watch is recognised in the activity summary and on my profile page. The altimeter is working exceptionally well. Most annoying!
