Garmin Connect app won't start!

OK once I press "Sign In" it just won't get past the screenshot... What happened!?! It was working fine... And now nothing...
  • Restart the app. If that doesn't work, uninstall and reboot the phone, then reinstall the app.

    Hi there, thank you for Your help.

    Had tried uninstalling. Hadn't tried the reboot in between but now I just did and no luck. Still the same. It was working flawless for more than a month used regularly. Why this now??!

    I'm on Samsung Galaxy S 5 with Android 5.0

    It won't let me sign in and doesn't respond even to creating a new account.

    Connect 3.12.01 Sign-in Fails

    This is exactly the problem I have! My new HR worked for about 3 hours and then apparently the APK auto-updated from Google Play and then nothing but the blue line after that.

    I reverted back to 3.10 from a backup. Also, here is a website that lists all of the Garmin Connect versions. I do not know anything about this site, but it appears to be a good site. However, use with caution. I would think that Garmin would have previous versions available in case of the need to roll-back.

    I don't know what 3.12 has that 3.10 doesn't. Maybe GPS. Everything from my vivosmart HR displays fine. I paired the HR from the HR menu.

    Fixed it

    Hey Dave,

    Yeah this sucked: I lost three hours today just backing up my phone, wiping it to factory defaults and restoring it again.

    I then downloaded the app and it's working now. Just hope it doesn't happen again next month!!!

    I wanted to avoid all this trouble but just wasn't possible.

    Hope it is helps over there and thanks for that site, it may come in handy ;)

  • You probably already did this, but switch off auto-updating in Google Play for GCM, the app otherwise auto-updates approximately once every month.

    just got a vivoactive hr and installed the app on a galaxy s5. When I try to sign in the app, I get the blank screen described in the thread. Tried rebooting the phone but no difference.

    Is there a solution to this problem?

  • I suggest you folks setup your Connect account on the web site and then try to log in to the already created account in the app. It might be a way to avoid what sounds like a bug.

    thanks for the reply. I had already set it up on the web. I also get nothing happening from the app installed on a galaxy tablet. It seems to not like samsung.

    I'm syncing the watch with the usb/charger but that's a pain to have to do every day.

  • It might be best to ask in the GCM/Android forum. I have both an Samsung phone (Galaxy J7) and Tablet (Galaxy Tab A), and it runs fine on both, so not sure what the problem is:
