Cannot print activity page from Garmin Connect

I am trying to print the activity page from Garmin Connect in the usual way, and it has suddenly stopped working. It will print only the word "Like" from the Facebook link top right of the page!!

The is a problem printing with Garmin Connect open in both Safari and Firefox, both show the same problem, and printing other web pages works fine with no problems at all. This worked fine up until September of this year, and has suddenly stopped now. Has anyone found a fix for this please?
Thanks
Steve
  • I never had a reason to try to print a page from Garmin Connect on-line, but I gave it a try just now.

In fact, on Mac OS 10.10.5 using Firefox 50.0 and view a PDF in the Preview app, I do in fact see the same thing you do, the lone word “Like” near the top and about one third of the width of the page from the right side. Oddly enough, the PDF generated has three pages, the 2nd and 3rd being entirely blank.

I am sorry about the trouble printing. This issue has been reported and we are currently working to resolve it. In the meantime, you can save a CSV file using the link at the bottom right corner and open it in a spreadsheet application for printing. If you are using Safari, you will need to right-click (ctrl + click) the link and choose Download Linked File.

Cannot print activity pages from Garmin Connect

    Hello,
Thanks for your response to this.
Unfortunately the CSV file will not open either. The only spreadsheet app I have is Microsoft Excel, and that reports errors in the exported file and will not open it.
The page I am trying to print is the overall summary page for each session, which included individual length times etc. This page does not seem to have the export as CSV option at all.

    Best Wishes

Cannot print activity pages from Garmin Connect as well

Tried to print on 4 different computers and also had the same result (both Windows and MAC using three different browsers). I know the basic question is "Why would you want to print the activity page?" My father is old school and he likes to see the information in his hand and compare it to other runs. Call it a personal preference. He is back to pencil and paper. If you are 74 years old and want to print out your activity while running 4 - 5 marathons a year, technology should oblige. It is frustrating that Garmin has updates to Garmin Connect on a regular basis and I never see anything change or improve. And the last update stopped you from printing. When a company calls itself "cutting edge" with technology and you can't write a program that allows you to print, I have to wonder. Hopefully this gets resolved soon, but its been over a month. Nothing.
  • Still some months on and I just tried printing my diary pages for this month and last month to PDF and it won't do it. Tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge on my PC all with the same result - a blank page. I like to print my calendar to show my physio what I've done between visits.
  • There are a couple of work arounds.

If you are using the calendar you can Publish it and then import it into a calendar program and print from their

If you are using the activity list you can export and open it in spreadsheet, but you are limited to 20 activities at a time.

But probably the easiest is to use a screen capture program.

Still no fix to Garmin Connect's loss of printing capability ??

    Hello Garmin,
Has the printing issue still not been resolved six months on?
I know there are a couple of tedious workarounds, but this is a function that was working fine until an update part way through last year.
All we are asking is for you to restore an existing function, and one that was a factor in the purchase of the device in the first place.

Please give us an update on this asap.

    Thanks

There is also a problem printing the Calendar in Garmin Connect online on my Mac, using the Print command in the Safari browser:

but luckily it can be easily worked around by right-clicking somewhere blank on the page to bring up the context-sensitive menu, then selecting either Print Frame or Print Window:

    both giving the same result:

Interestingly, after selecting either Print Frame or Print Window, and then cancelling the Print wizard, the Print command in the File menu will also work to produce the same result.

Perhaps you can try something along the same lines in a browser on your PC? I hope it works for you.
