Activity type “Race Walking”

I can not believe you are the only one to practice and ask to add Marcia activities.
I'll be back to ask, please to Garmin, to consider adding even between Racing activities the "Race Walking".
Thank you

    Why not use "speed walking"?
  • Because the Walk or "Speed Walking", Garmin, does not have all the features of Race

There are applications for almost every sport I can think of, but there are no applications for race walking.

I use (Garmin 645) the running ones, but I am afraid that the analysis (VO2 max , for example) and the predictions, do not correspond to reality.

Will we have to keep waiting?

    That's what I'll do.

    Thanks

  • I am an avid Racewalker.. there is no function setting specific to that. To use run setting provides inaccurate results. The gps has a hard time with speed. The calories burned is not correct.. run setting is not really accounting for arm and leg motion. It is far more intense than running motion..the gps is all over the place as to,speed. The average is a bit more accurate, but speed bounces all over the place.. racewalking is an Olympic sport and has become more popular over the years. The watch needs a specific setting for racewalking .

Get the HRM-Pro chest belt, it will improve also the distance and speed accuracy.

Calories are calculated with the help of the HR, hence any increased activity as for example the arm movement, are accounted for, of course, implicitly, since they increase the cardiac output, which is being measured. Again, if you are serious about your training, I can highly recommend getting the chest strap. It will improve the HR data accuracy as well.
