No.
Without getting into the discussion about this being appropriate or not: to get steps from cycling, strap your watch to your ankle. To get (some) steps from swimming: do not use a Swim app but indoor walk, run or other. Disclaimer: not tried this with the 735xt, these things were findings while experimenting with a Fenix 3.
I tuck my vivosmart hr+ into my cycling shorts, it then registers the pedal strokes as steps.
I've submitted a suggestion that Connect have an option (some may not want the feature) of adding pedal strokes into my daily step totals, but, I've seen and heard nothing from them on it (not that I really expected to).
The whole "should you get steps when cycling" debate has been going on since I first started using Garmin device!
IIRC, on some devices, it ignores anything that may be a step while recording "Cycling", and if you look at the Edge devices, they don't even count "steps" under any condition (they aren't step trackers).
