[Workouts] - Garmin, please clarify Rest vs Recover and...

Garmin, could you clarify the difference between Rest and Recover?

It will be really usefull that for example Rest, keep some sort of stopwatch running but stop the tracking of the speed...
Sometimes i'm making some intervals... and i'm resting between them...and the watch detects minimal movement and ruins the stats from the run.

Example:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1419168579
  • the watch detects minimal movement and ruins the stats from the run.
The watch captures stats for the entire activity session. It is not meant to filter the information or present it in a way to suit how you want to see it; if you want to exclude rests from the stats at the capture level, then you need to pause the activity on the watch. (There is auto-pause capability on at least some models; how well it works for you is anyone's guess, but I've personally found it not quick enough to be useful.)
  • ..keep some sort of stopwatch running but stop the tracking of the speed..

So you are using the interval timer and don't want distance/speed tracked during the rests? I don't know a way to do that other than using Pause instead, but that is not working well because you won't have the timer running. I leave out the laps that contain the rests when I process the data. I'm not sure about Connect but you may be able to export laps to CSV from Connect and process them in a spreadsheet.

    Sorry about the delayed response!

Yes, exactly, you understood perfecty what i mean.

The problem is...that i expect that a 350USD piece of technology has the capability to make any difference between REST and RECOVER.

If i set an interval with a recover Step, ok, it-s ok if you track the distance and pace.
But if i set an interval with a Rest, it-s supposed that i-ll be quiet , into the same place. And i don't need stats about distance or speed, but i need you to tell me when the rest period is over... is not that difficult ...i think...
