Hi...new to sleep tracking since I've upgraded to the Vivoactive. I have a simple question that has probably been discussed to death on here, but can't find the exact topic, so I'll throw my 2 cents out for whatever it's worth. It seems to me that the chart in the "Sleep" report is set up to be inaccurate because it measures the wrong variables. It takes the data point of "total sleep time" which is the entire sleep session from when the watch automatically thinks you fell asleep, to whenever the device automatically thinks you're awake. You can manipulate this to widen or narrow the start or end times manually to more accurately match your actual sleep session. The PROBLEM is that this a data capture of the whole SESSION, and not just the sleep in that session. The formula used for "sleep" in the report is "deep Sleep + light sleep + awake." Why in the world is the measure of "awake" included in the total sleep measure? It seems to me the more correct formula to record sleep in your history data would be each night's deep sleep + light sleep, but back out any awake time. Does anyone know if Garmin has ever looked into changing this...seems easy enough. Thanks.
