hello garmin. hope you have a great day. i have garmin fenix 3 hr and i love your company products. except that you dont permit us to use your features.
i am living in iran and so many of my friends have garmin products which if you want i'll send you all of their s/n to make you sure im telling you the truth. but thats not fair to use a product of a company which still do not count you in its customers.

do anything you want with us. do not ship to iran. do not say about iran. but not letting us to use the feature you said the device has, thats just not fair.

I, as an iranian, beg you to remove the sanctions you have against us and please permit us to use your site.

thanks for your good products.

hope my words may work.

garmin is closed right now. so i contacted one of our companies selling garmin, and they said that garmin from america has been banning us for couple of years. and i have to use vpn to access their site. and i asked him if we have blocked the garmin site. and he said they are blocking us from reaching their site not us.

i have called garmin about a week ago, and they just hang up the phone. but when i emailed them, they said (Please call: +44 870 850 1242 or contact Garmin Europe - Consumer Support by following the link below:
    https://support.garmin.com/support/sw/escalateForm )

i will call them to see if they will fix it or at least give me a reason or not.

Mmh, hard to believe. Where did you buy the Fenix? From an Iranian shop or from a foreign internet shop?

I ask because the access to Connect is part of the product, so if Garmin really blocks Iranian customers, I would guess, that Garmin products are not officially sold in Iran.

Theoretically you should have a right to give the Fenix back and get a refund, because the product misses a major feature in your country. But I'm assuming here, that the Fenix was bought in Iran and than Iranian consumer rights / law is similar to Germany.

OTOH, if Iran really gets blocked, you might have the same problem with a different product, because most fitness devices are sold by US vendors, except Samsung and Sony.

PS: Did you try, if a proxy service like the Puffin browser on iOS works?

i bought it from an iranian site who said they are selling it officialy . the site was garmin.ir and has enemad(a sign which tells us its trusted) . and i dont want to give it back to them. i mean so what should i buy next? and yes. i said that i am using proxy to access this site and the connect site. but should i always use proxy to access a feature which garmin promised that its fenix have? they didnt mentioned in their products that this feature does not work in iran. and they even have their iran map. so i didnt even thought that this feature doesnt work in iran.

PS:after all if i cant do anything about removing their ban, so is there anyway to setup proxy in fenix?

garmin. whats your reason for letting us to use your apps.garmin.com site, but not the connect us? please give your consumer an acceptable reason.

so is there anyway to setup proxy in fenix?

The Fenix needs Garmin Connect Mobile on a smartphone, so GCM will need a proxy. The only way to do that on a smartphone is to use a VPN. There are many VPN services available in the US and many Europeans use them e.g. to watch the Netflix US films. But such VPN services cost a monthly fee.

    garmin. whats your reason ...

You need to contact Garmin support ... they won't answere here in the forums. Maybe you should also ask them for help with the VPN, if this really is a ban and not a temporary issue.
