Export GPS issue

Hi,

I do a run last sunday. (Paris-Versailles in France)
The session looks ok on Garmin Connect. Distance is 16.06 km and time 1h36'56''
I export the session as a GPX file and import it on Endomondo : time is the same but distance is 10874.94 km !
When I look at the gpx file there are 145 "<trkpt lat="0" lon="0">" lines !
Its strange because the Garmin Connect Map is ok, there is no line going to the equator !!!
Garmin bug export ? I try to export it 3 times with the same issue.
Ok I can remove manually this lines from the GPX before importing it in Endomondo but it still strange...
Any other idea ?

Thanx

Yes, it is an export bug in Garmin Connect that will show up in both GPS and TCX exports. It's been discussed on other threads in this forum. Search the forums for more details.

To avoid having to manually edit your GPX files, you could use Basecamp to convert the FIT file to a GPX file. Basecamp does not have this same bug.

You should also report the bug to Garmin. Even though it's already been reported and Garmin has confirmed the bug (to me), the more folks who report it the better.
  • Thank you, I will report it to Garmin too.
I will look at the other thread.
I don't know what FIT format is.
When exporting I have this choices : a zip, a TCX, GPX, Google Earth or CSV format.

Edit : wow, I found the FIT file in the ZIP file ;-)
And I used BaseCamp to export in at GPX format and there is no more lat=0 in it, great !
But now I can't import it in Endomondo, there is a java error with the "import file" option in Endomondo !!! It's not a Garmin issue, its an Endomondo issue ! It may be corrected soon...
