I use my Fenix 3 HR Extensively and the mapping / Track feature is very handy on new tracks.
So far I've created a number of tracks directly through the "courses" section in garmin connect - so far, so good.
But I would really like to be able to use Garmin Basecamp (mac) to do some of the more extensive things, especially as I've got some pretty specific maps to work with there.
And I found that within basecamp, once I have created a track and select it, when I then go to the file-menu I can actually select
"Send selected track to Garmin Connect..."
however after asking once for my username and password (successfully entered) it simply fails to do anything.
Nothing ever shows up in garmin connect.
Also when I hook up the Fenix 3HR through USB, it shows up in Garmin Basecamp as a device - but I can NOT send a track to it for some odd reason.
latest version of basecamp, latest firmware (non beta) on Fenix 3 HR.
what I figured so far when comparing the tracks (GPX) created by garmin connect and the one in Basecamp (exported as GPX) is that there Basecamp GPX seems not to add timestamps to each waypoint...
Also exporting the basecamp track as GPX and trying to import it into connect as a manual activity "import"... fails with an unspecified error.
Any idea how to get that working??
thanks
