Connect down again

For my taste I see this "sorry, down for maintenance" too often.

Besides that I can't sync my VAHR to GCM, which seems to be related.

Hey, Garmin, ever heard of high availability for web services?

Embarrassing
  • Those symptoms normally point to something blocking the download. Maybe your firewall or an ad blocking program like Ghostery?

    Hi,
Has anyone else got a problem with the connect dashboard page? I have logged into mine a number of times and on 2 PC's but all I get is the dashboard page with nothing else. Just sidebar menus which don't respond.
It has been like this for over 24 hours, and when my wife logs into her account, it is just the same.
    Thanks
    Francis

Yes. I don't even get that. Just a few lines of text on the page like:
    Menu
    Notifications
    Queue
    User Menu

Been like that for a few hours now.
If only their website could be as reliable as Facebook's, which is ultra reliable and never seems to go down. Garmin is one of the most unreliable I have come across.

I just got it to work. Maybe the browser had a cached version of the page. I had already tried various things like re-loading the page. Logging out and then back in. All of a sudden it started working when I re-loaded the page again after posting the above.

Since this morning everything works as expected, be it Connect Website or GCM on iOS.

Btw ... here's a similar discussion from last week:

    https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?361658-Connect-a-Little-Shaky-This-Morning-(Sept-20)

Just to show, that the reliability of Connect really is ... let's call it "suboptimal" ... to choose very friendly words this time
  • Yes, but just because a few folks have a few problems doesn't mean the problem is at the Garmin end. Too easy to point the finger there but so often folks do and it turns out to be a problem elsewhere ;)
  • I'm in Italy and since this morning Garmin Connect doesn't work at all and the activities can't be uploaded. I've tried on two PC with IE and Chrome. It's a Garmin site problem.

Denying, that a problem exists, doesn't make it go away ;)

Next time I'll make a screenshot and post it here.

    It's a Garmin site problem.

No, it's the rubbish Italien internet ... LOL ... just joking.

Interestingly for me in Germany it works 'til this morning. So whatever causes these strange issues should be investigated by Garmin's IT department.

Fact is, this isn't the first time. I found a German press article from early 2015 reporting similar problems, so I would guess, Garmin will fix it soon.
  • I have the same issue accessing the dashboard on Garmin Connect via a web browser. (See attachment for details)

On a Windows 10 machine and have used Microsoft Edge, IE11, Firefox, Chrome & Chrome Canary. All the same...
  • Yes, and this is a time zone difference of about 8 hours, when comparing to Sydney, so when I encoutered the error at 11:00 p.m., it was 7:00 a.m. in Sydney and you maybe had breakfast or drove to work or whatever ;) ... and didn't notice a downtime.

7:00am is about the time I am uploading activities as I usually do a session first thing in the morning. I also upload activity in the evening too.

I don't deny the web site goes down. But the times that I have actually seen it off-line are very, very few and far between.

And when it is, it's certainly not an issue! There's much more to life than getting agitated about not being able to view stuff on the interweb.
