Connect Questions

Hello, I am new to the forum. I am considering changing from the Fitbit to the Connect. I guess everyone here would agree with this change. If anyone could answer a few little questions it might give me the push I need to go ahead.
First, I see there is an alarm that goes off if you are not active for a certain period. Can this alarm be silenced?
Is there a way to add typed notes to your daily log in addition to weight and activity tracking? (For example, to track blood pressure readings, levels of pain, or other wellness factors). The Fitbit used to have this capability but they removed it.
Is the logging page intuitive to use? It won't let me go there until I actually pair a device which makes it difficult to assess.

Thank you for any input. I am thinking of getting a Vivofit 2. I have some health issues and don't work out rigorously, but staying active and healthy is very important to me.

  • The alarm can be silenced by removing the standard steps page from the vivofit. However, you can still see your steps on many custom watchfaces and IQ apps.
You can add notes to a logged activity but I don't know of anywhere else. So you would either need to do an activity or create a manual activity (call it a daily note, if you like) and add your note there. I generally add recovery heart rate to my notes because although my device shows it to me, it doesn't make it easily accessible in Connect.

I personally find the logging page very intuitive but I've been here a long time so I, more or less, know where everything is. I still find out new things by coming here every day and reading people's posts. When Garmin switched users from their "classic" page to the current modern one, there were lots of complaints at that time. However, those complaints were more from people who were very serious about their athletic results and the classic had some stuff for them that wasn't easily available in the modern view. Garmin's documentation could be better.

Connect is sorta meh when it comes to making sense of ur data. 3rd parties offer this but u have to sync

Much of what u asked for is a available in trainingpeaks which gets updated by connect.

under armour also have an app which gathers data from 3rd parties and lets you do much of the thingsmu asked about. Imo TP is better
