'Other' changing exercise name permanently

Hi

I have a vivoactive HR.

I made an app sport 'Other' directly on the vivoactive HR, but the vivoactive gave me the option of choosing the name 'Pilates'.

However when I pick the app, do the work out, and it syncs to garmin connect, it calls itself 'Other' and not Pilates. I can manually change it each time, but this is a pain in the bum.

How can I change the name of this permanently?

I also want to set up another copy of pool swim, but to log aqua jogging separately to normal swimming.. and I have another 'Other' app for off road motorbiking and want to permanently change the name of this?

You can't.

You're not adding a new sport - you're adding a new profile for an existing sport, where you can have different data screens, gps on or off, etc. The sport type recorded is still "other".

I was having the same issue. When I figured out that I couldn't do this (I wanted to separate dog walks from my exercise walks), I started by creating two courses. The 2 courses may be an identical location; however, I have named them such that one is power walking where another is dog walking. It's an extra step in GC, but it helps me remember one run is so slow when the beagle is stopping to smell every inch of pavement.
