When I am trying to export an activity, I get this error:

HTTP Status 403 - You do not have sufficient privileges to view the activity with id 610947649.

type Status report

message You do not have sufficient privileges to view the activity with id 610947649.

description Access to the specified resource (You do not have sufficient privileges to view the activity with id 610947649.) has been forbidden.
JBossWeb/2.0.0.GA

I end up going to the old Garmin Connect and exporting from there, but when that goes away then what? Anyone else get this error?

  • FIT Files are no longer available as workaround

Yes, this workaround is working but when importing such a TCX file the elevation in may case is missing. I've got this information from Garmin Support three weeks ago.

Thanks - GPSIES is my current work around BUT:

my Garmin vivoactive unfortunately erases the *.FIT Files after some days.
Consequently, many uploaded Activities are ONLY available at connect Garmin.

What workaround is available in this case?
  • Still the same error.
  • Seems, that someone has made something to server. Just wondering, if they cannot do anything to fix problem. How long time do we have to wait ?

I'm not very familiar with the Vivoactive, but it has USB to install updates via Garmin Express. Can be connected to the PC in Mass Storage Mode? In that case, (if it has a filesystem like the Fenix) you may be able to copy the FIT files from a directory named \GARMIN\ACTIVITY. Once they are on your PC you can upload them to a number of sites for conversion.
  • Still the same

.. Is there anybody out there in garmins maintenance ?
  • It's a server problem. I just reported the issue through garmin support form. Let's see how long it take to be solved...

I'm not so sure that this is a server issue.

    My symptoms on the 235:

    1) FIT files directly pulled from the device via USB cannot be converted through any of the online tools (and I've tried almost everything mentioned here) with a variation of the message (empty file, missing data etc).
    2) FIT files exported from Garmin Connect has the same problem.
    3) Even on Garmin Connect since the problem started on the 15th of October there is no map shown for the runs (all previous runs show the map) after that date but all other information appears to be available.
    4) I have Strava and RunKeeper linked and Runkeeper does not update at all anymore. Strava picks up the run but does not have maps/GPS.

My non-expert reading is that somehow the device is no longer capturing the GPS coordinates and this is causing the failure.

Edit: I've also tried Basecamp and it does not see any of the runs after the 15th of October when i connect the watch. Clearly a watch issue.
  • Still same problem.

Is there any places in harddisk, to where .fit files are placed ?
I Have to move them manually to other format.

I'm having the same issue, although yesterday I could download 2 files... But 5minutes later it was already impossible to download it again... This is boring!!
