Garmin Vivoactive HR Smartwatch Some Files Could not be uploaded?

Hi,

Re:Garmin Vivoactive HR Smartwatch Some Files Could not be uploaded?

Two activities have saved on my watch, one is shown as invalid and the other is a swim activity. When I click on them they will not show and I am unable to delete. Neither will they download to Garmin Express and onto Garmin Activities, I am therefore unable to delete. Any ideas please? I have restarted watch.

Thanks

Very strange ... I would contact support.

PS: Have you tried uploading with Connect Mobile? If all else fails, I would try a factory reset, but that means loss of the activities.
  • Used the device today and it's now frozen on 'Review Activity' won't switch off, won't do anything and Garmin Support have yet to contact me. How do you do a Factory Reset? Thanks

How do you do a Factory Reset?

Go into the menu and choose settings / system / factory settings ... I hope I translated the menu correctly, because mine is German.

So I guess, if your VAHR is frozen and you even can't switch it off, you won't be able to do a factory reset, until the battery is completely drained and the VAHR restarted by recharging it.

PS: Holding the left button for a while does nothing?
  • Hi Chris,

Holding the left button for a while did the trick, but strange that it's acting oddly. And annoying that Garmin Support are not very supportive.

    Thanks

If you search through the forum, you'll notice, that there are many different issues with the current firmware and in most cases only a few devices are affected.

My guess is, that firmware installation on affected devices went suboptimal for whatever reason. And in many cases a factory reset seems to be the fix. Maybe the reset reinstalls the firmware correctly?

I fear Garmin currently need more supporters as they have, because the Vivosmart HR seems to have even more issues as the VAHR. So I'm not astonished, that supporters start sweating, when two new top sellers cause tons of support requests.

And I guess, my assumption, that these two devices are top sellers, is very likely, because the fact, that they are waterproof, give them a huge advantage over Fitbit & Co, right? Furthermore both devices got many good reviews.
